Bleaching, or whitening, of a treatment used in cosmetic dentistry to whiten tooth enamel. Discoloration of teeth can be caused by a number of factors including coffee, tea, red wine, smoking, some medication and simply ageing.

Peroxide gel is used within a tray (like a mouth guard) to ensure the gel is fully in contact with teeth.

What options are available for teeth whitening?

At-Home Teeth Whitening

At-home teeth whitening kits can require up to 10-15 treatments.

At-home kits use a solution that is 10% carbamide peroxide and includes a custom mouth guard to ensure that the solution remains in contact with your teeth enamel.

Once you have achieved your intended results, it may be that you choose to top up your whitening every few months to keep your smile gleaming.
